Go to https://tinyurl.com/KaneEmergAlerts, fill out the form, and hit SUBSCRIBE. You're now signed up for Emergency Alerts! On the next screen, you can select other channels to subscribe to, including the ways you'd to receive them. See below for all of the options.

What are the types of alerts I can sign up for?

Each type of alert has its own "Channel" to which you can subscribe. Subscribe to one or all of them; it's up to you! The Channels available are:

  • Emergency Alerts – critically important, urgent information (loss of life or property is possible). Examples: Threat to public safety, evacuation or shelter-in-place orders, hazardous materials incidents or gas leaks. Note that these Alerts can be sent 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and override users' specified quiet hours.
  • Weather Alerts – Receive Tornado Warnings and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings from Kane County when they are issued for your area. Note that your address must be included in your profile to receive these alerts. This enables you to receive these alerts if you are in the warned area issued by the National Weather Service and not all warnings issued within Kane County. Note that these Alerts can be sent 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and override users' specified quiet hours.
  • Advisories – less urgent, "need to know" information that may be time-sensitive, but not necessarily a threat to life or property. Note that these alerts are held during users' specified quiet hours, but will be sent at the conclusion of those quiet hours.
  • Traffic Alerts & Road Closures – receive alerts about unplanned road closures & other traffic alerts, such as large traffic crashes with a road closure or traffic backup, so you can plan your trip accordingly. Note that these alerts are held during users' specified quiet hours, but will be sent at the conclusion of those quiet hours.

What devices can I receive alerts on?

You can receive alerts on multiple devices, including smartphones, tablets, landlines, and email addresses. Make sure your preferred devices are listed in your profile to receive alerts on them.

Are alerts free?

Yes, signing up for Kane County Public Safety Alerts is completely free. Standard messaging rates may apply if you receive text messages on a mobile phone, depending on your carrier.

What if I don't have internet access?

You can still receive alerts via phone calls or text messages. Make sure your phone numbers are added to your profile to receive these alerts.

Can I receive alerts in multiple languages?

Currently, alerts are issued in English, but the Regroup has automatic translation to numerous languages.

How often are alerts sent?

Alerts are sent as needed. Emergency and Weather Alerts can be sent 24/7, overriding quiet hours. Advisories and Traffic Alerts are delivered according to your quiet hour settings.

Can I report an issue with the system?

Yes, if you experience issues or do not receive alerts as expected, contact Kane County Emergency Management at 630-232-5986 or email KaneCountyEOC@KaneCountyIL.gov.

What should I do if I receive an emergency alert?

Follow the instructions in the alert carefully. For tornadoes, severe weather, or evacuations, seek safety immediately. For less urgent advisories, review the information and take any recommended precautions.

Is my information private?

Yes, your contact information is kept secure and will only be used for Kane County Public Safety Alerts. It will not be shared with other organizations.

How do I access my profile?

Go to the login page at https://kanecountyil.app.regroup.com/login and click on the link First Time Users Create Password. Select a contact method from the dropdown (email, user name, phone), enter the information, and click SEND. You will receive an email with instructions on resetting your password.

How can I specify quiet hours, during which time I do not want to receive non-emergency messages?

Go to the login page at https://kanecountyil.app.regroup.com/login, enter your credentials, click EDIT PROFILE. Check the box for Set Quiet Hours for, and select the days of the week and hours. When you're done, click SAVE FINISH at the bottom.

Can I receive alerts if I'm traveling outside Kane County?

You will only receive alerts for the area(s) specified in your profile within Kane County.

How can I change the channels (i.e. add or delete) that I'm subscribing to?

Go to the login page at https://kanecountyil.app.regroup.com/login, enter your credentials, click EDIT PROFILE. Click on My Self-Subscribed Channels and then you can unsubscribe or add quiet hours for each Channel. To subscribe to additional channels, click on Other Channels to Subscribe and click Subscribe next to each channel to which you wish to subscribe, if available. When you're done, click SAVE FINISH at the bottom.

How can I access the Regroup Mobile App?
